The show opened on Saturday 14th. Thank you to everyone who visited. I am pleased with the results. Its been good to make a good body of work.

Counting down to showing 12 new pieces of sculptural blown glass in the Rosedale studio.

New cutting, more asymetrical forms and flowing surfaces. Its been good to make a group of pieces and make them successively. Its when the work starts to become self referential that is begins to get interesting and new ways of developing each piece become obvious . Each one a development of the last.

Margo is a textile deigner who has her own shop and studio gallery in Bloomsbury London.

We have some of our small bowls on show as part of the latest exhibition entitiled ‘Flora’ which runs from 29th may - 30th August. Look for the link.

Its coming round awful quickly. Looks like it will be a very good show. Pleased to have had one of our images used in the publicity. We will be showing Aesculus and production bowls during the 4 day event. Link in associates.

19th - 22nd June Contemporary Urban Centre , Liverpool

Heres a pic of the 3 pieces we finished for the focus at Contemporary Applied Arts. Black, White and Clear Aesculus. I am pleased with the way, the pieces are moving, its good to be making new work again and developing ideas, forms and surfaces. Always good to see pieces well displayed, lit and in another context away from the studio to make sure they really work individually and together . I am really happy with these three and looking forward to making new pieces.

Went down to London on Thursday 24th for the opening of the Glass House Show. Interesting, eclectic group of pieces, good catalogue charting the important history of the Glass House that was once in Covent Garden and the later Islington.

A good night , with many familiar and many of the first faces of British studio glass.

Lunch time was a discussion, which was made a tricky by a hail storm that all but drowned conversation and the evening was very busy.

Pleased to say two Aesculus have been selected to show, one shown below.

The show opens 22nd July 28th September 2008. This is the third Biennale and if you like glass… its a good event. A snap shot of what is happening on these shores at this moment in time and a catalogue to keep. There’s a link in associates to the Biennale site.

Making 3 new pieces for this focus. Really pleased to see the first white piece seen here in progress, and made a clear glass Aesculus for the first time too. It really lets the light dance . The exhibition opens in London on 24th April through 31st May and runs at the same time as the Glass House Exhibition.

Now in its fourth year, we are pleased to be part of this event.

Part of a group show in North Yorks at the Lund Gallery. Beautiful space, run by artist Debbie Loane. Its a monochrome theme across the discilpines. Made 3 pieces with the same theme. ( Image on the card is not the work in the show )
