Richard Lamming

Posted in Exhibitions, Studio Stuff by Kate Jones on July 13, 2009

This is an image of the incredible Richard Lamming. Richard is a glass repairer by trade, very highly skilled and was one of the last apprentice cutters at Stuart Crystal. He can ‘really’ cut glass and likes a challenge, which is good, as it is a real challenge cutting our sculptural blown glass vessels. I really had no idea how hard it was, until spending two days with Richard last week.

This piece will eventually be part of the show at Ryedale Folk Musuem.

The Leuka Mini Masters 2009

Posted in Studio Stuff by Kate Jones on July 13, 2009

Made some colourful awards for the Leuka Mini Masters winners of 2009 . A refreshing change from the generic golf trophy, and I hope pieces that will be happy in the home beyond the event.

All proceeds for the event go to Leuka, the registered Leukemia charity based at London’s Hammersmith Hospital.

And the winners were….

Leuka Mini Masters Champions 2009, Eddie & the Yorkshire based… LMD Team, led by team captain Philip Glenister.

A good day out for a very good cause.
